Movie Makers is pleased to now offer movie-making themed party events.

Movie Party: 3 hours, up
to 20 kids.
Everyone meets in the studio and we play some theater games to warm up. We then talk about
what movies we like and what we might want to do. We do a quick screenwriting workshop and
come up with an outline for our movie. We then learn some acting, directing and filming
techniques. Then on to filming our movie. We edit in the camera (so it is not fancy and
doesn't have music or professional credits) as we go. It will take almost the whole two
hours to finish and then with our remaining time we watch what they did on a large TV.
Price: $300 for up to 12 kids. Each additional child is $10. The price includes the location, learning about movie making and making a short film on our cameras as well as a copy of the final product for the birthday boy/girl (each additional copy is $5. They make great party gifts for all the kids). An additional hour may be added to allow time for cake and presents for $50 more.
Music Video Party: 2 hours, up to 20 kids.Everyone meets in the studio here and the birthday girl/boy brings a song they want to make a music video of. We play theater games to warm up and then learn a little bit about the cameras and directing. We listen to the song and get ideas for our video. Then we work on costumes and make up (if the kids want it). After that, we start filming our music video. When the kids aren't in front of they camera, they get to direct or film. After an hour-and-a-half, we stop and have cake or other treats (all food must be provided by the parents or party hosts) We'll video some of the socializing and present-opening as well and include it in the music video. We will take all the footage home and edit it into an enjoyable music video. The final product will be ready for pick-up in one week.
Price: $350 for up to 12 kids. Each additional child is $10. The price includes the edited final product of the music video for the birthday child, the location, all equipment and training. Each additional copy is $5. They make great party gifts for all the kids.
Theater Party: 2 hours, up
to 20 kids.
We can tailor this to your child's interest. We have created Cinderella parties, western
parties, murder-mystery parties, etc. When the kids arrive, they become characters in the
story, get in costume, make up, and become part of the play that is going on. Here are
some examples from previous events:
At the Cinderella Party everyone arrived and was greeted by a wicked stepmother who ordered them to clean the house. Then a fairy godmother arrived and led them to another room where there were beautiful gowns and make up and shoes for the girls to change into. Then we arrived at a ball where there was cake and drinks. Then a prince showed up to dance!
At the Murder/Mystery Party, as the kids arrived they were given characters and name tags. Someone was murdered and one of the guests did it (though they don't know it yet.) Then we had clues that led to other clues and scenes set up for them to witness to give them more information. It was like being in a play and solving a mystery. Great fun. Depending on how long you want it to last we can either do the shorter version so there is time for food and presents or it can last the entire two hours.
Price: $300 for up to 12 kids. Each additional child is $10. The price includes the location (our studio), the planning, all props and costumes, any adult actors needed. Please note this package does not include video equipment or a final video product.
